Our Doctors

Dr. Carlos Mohamed

Dr. Carlos Mohamed is proud to be a native Texan! Born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley, Dr. Mohamed’s roots run deep in our community. He is a graduate from both Our Lady of Sorrows and Memorial High School. After graduating from Memorial, Dr. Mohamed attended the prestigious Trinity University in San Antonio where he met his now lovely wife, Paulina (little did he know, marrying Paulina would not only bring him three wonderful children, but the BEST office manager EVER!).

Continuing his San Antonio educational pursuits, Dr. Mohamed earned both his doctorate degree and certificate in pediatric dentistry from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. As if graduating cum laude with a distinction in research was not enough, he voluntarily completed a Master’s in Public Health focusing his research on ensuring adequate access to care for underserved Texas communities.

In his free time, Dr. Mohamed enjoys spending time with his family. He is a self-proclaimed South Texas Pitmaster and if you’re lucky, he may share some of his delicious BBQ that he often makes for his staff as a token of appreciation for their hard work.

Dr. Patrick B. Wilcox

Dr. Wilcox, dubbed “El Professor” by his colleagues, has been practicing dentistry for 35 years! His professional education began in Monterey, Mexico, where he completed a B.S. in dental surgery from the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León in 1979. While at university, Dr. Wilcox married his lovely bride, Dr. Martha Tijerina. Dr. Wilcox practiced for one year as a general dentist but soon discovered his passion for working with children. Electing to continue his professional educational pursuits in the United States, he was accepted into the nation’s premier pediatric dental residency program at Baylor College of Dentistry. Excelling as a resident, Dr. Wilcox was asked join the faculty as a clinical professor where he taught for two years. Desiring to enter private practice in the United States, he was granted advanced standing and earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Baylor College of Dentistry.

Finally, it was time to return back to south Texas to enter private practice. He is thought of as a leader and champion of pediatric dental health by the local pediatricians. Dr. Wilcox has two daughters and one very handsome grandson! He is an avid endurance athlete who has completed several half and full distance IronMan competitions.
